The Mental Health Therapist will work with individuals with significant mental health needs, implementing and monitoring services to meet their needs. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field and be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health needs
  • Work cooperatively with multiple service providers and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide high-quality assessment and brief counseling using short-term solution-focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy therapeutic models
  • Participate in the education of staff, students, and the larger community

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience working with individuals with significant mental health needs
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Recovery Principles
  • Excellent assessment and treatment skills utilizing modalities of individual and group therapies
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM-V
