We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Controller to join our team at Gay Lea Foods. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and manage tax filings, audits, and assessments to minimize risk and maximize financial performance.
- Accounting Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of staff and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the team.
- Financial Analysis and Planning: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analyses as needed to inform business decisions.
- ERP System Management: Manage and maintain our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the dairy or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and accounting best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems, consolidations, and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
