Seaspan Shipyards Security Support Specialist

Seaspan is seeking a Casual Security Guard to support its Shipyards security team in North Vancouver.
This role involves providing shift coverage as needed, with flexible scheduling required for day, afternoon, graveyard, and weekend shifts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling access to the Vancouver Shipyards site, undertaking regular security patrols, and providing first aid services to shipyard personnel.
In addition, they will be responsible for phone communications after hours for Vancouver Shipyards and ensuring that visitors are properly signed in and out of the premises.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
- A valid security workers license
- A valid Driver's License
- 4+ years of security industry experience, preferably in a shipyard or marine environment
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record check
- Ability to obtain Nato Clearance
- Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
Additionally, the candidate should possess good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and be able to work with minimal supervision while making independent decisions.
BenefitsThis is a union position offering a competitive wage and parking included.
The starting rate for this position is $28.34 per hour, increasing to $31.49 after the probation period.
