Job Summary:

Watson Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them correctly, protecting nerve and bony structures, and maintaining body alignment to ensure vascular flow and unencumbered respiratory ventilation.
  • Ensure the physical preparation of the surgical suite, including cleaning, stocking, and replacing supplies, and opening sterile supplies onto the sterile field using aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain the integrity of the sterile field and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
  • Comply with Surgery Center protocol and manufacturers' guidelines for the use, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Check equipment for safe working order and effective cleaning prior to use, and remove defective instruments and equipment from service and document the specific nature of the problem.
  • Set up sterile tables with instruments, sutures, blades, electrosurgical equipment, suction, prosthesis, and solutions needed for each procedure according to Center standards.
  • Scrubs, gowns, and gloves according to established Center policy, and counts sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulator according to Center policy.
  • Identify all specimens and follow special instructions of the surgeon, and prepare surgical incisions and apply post-op dressings per surgeon preference.
  • Assist with the transport of patients and participate as an operating room team member to complete room turnover.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Formal training as an O.R. Technician.
  • Required certified as a surgical technologist.
  • CGRN preferred.
  • Must obtain ACLS certification within 3 months of employment.
