Empower Simcoe Finance and Operations Director Job Description

Empower Simcoe is seeking a highly skilled Finance and Operations Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of our financial systems, as well as operational leadership for our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
  • Oversee the completion of quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our finance and operations teams, ensuring effective management of financial resources and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with our CEO, Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement organizational strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, agency standards, and strategic directions.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Business Management or Accounting, plus a Professional Accounting designation (e.g. CMA, CGA, CA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience, with a minimum of 5 years recent full-time experience in a senior management role, preferably in a human services environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Not for Profit Accounting Standards.
  • Strong leadership, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong strategic management and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage within a unionized environment.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Project management skills and advanced knowledge of computer applications and accounting software.
