Care Aide

At Louis Brier Home and Hospital, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Aide to join our team. As a Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Assist with transfers and mobilization of residents, using body mechanics and mechanical aids as needed.
- Perform nursing procedures, such as giving enemas, obtaining specimens, and administering minor non-sterile dressings.
- Record observations and report any changes or concerns to the designated Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Transport residents to and from dining areas, lounges, and activity programs.
- Ensure the safety of residents while performing tasks and assignments.
- Graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide and Health Care Assistant Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
