Overview

Tay Township is seeking an experienced Information Technology professional to join our team as a Network Support and Technical Operations Expert. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, providing exceptional technical support to staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in networking, system administration, and technical support. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results, working collaboratively in a team environment, and adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide level 1-3 technical support to staff via phone, email, or in-person
  • Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain and optimize network performance, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal downtime
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a government or public sector organization
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls
  • Experience with operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
