Data Governance Analyst

Job Summary

This is a critical role in the development and implementation of Memorial University's information management and protection processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching best practices in university research office records management policies, procedures, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tools and resources to support the maintenance, protection, retention, archiving, and disposition of unit records in all formats.
  • Create and implement a records management plan.
  • Work with staff to establish appropriate unit-based retention and disposition schedules for university records.
  • Assist with data migration and purging unnecessary files in consultation with senior management.
  • Deliver information management training to RIS employees.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in records and information management.
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, information technology, and/or records and information management.
  • Experience developing tools and resources for an information management program.
  • Understanding of project management and change management.
  • Knowledge of the principles of information management and protection.
  • Experience working with records in various formats and with records or document management systems.
  • Familiarity with information management related legislation.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
