Job Summary:

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist - Food Labeling role is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with food labeling regulations and customer requirements. This position involves reviewing and managing product specifications, labels, and packaging to meet national, state, and local food regulations, as well as industry standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Responsible for understanding all applicable food regulations (national, state, and local) and ensuring recipes, labels, and labeling meet all applicable regulations.
  • Label Review: Reviews product labels and packaging to ensure compliance with Canadian and/or US labeling regulations.
  • Regulatory Review: Manages regulatory review process for new and reformulated products and contributes to maintenance of existing products.
  • Specification Management: Responsible for creation and maintenance of Finished Food Specifications (FFS) and maintenance of product specification library on SharePoint.
  • Sales Support: Assists Marketing and Sales with preparation of labeling materials (Sell Sheets, websites, Point-of-Sale materials) and preparation of other required documents as needed (FFS, customer specs, etc.).
  • Nutritional Analysis: Utilizes Genesis and/or other nutritional system in preparation of product specifications, and contributes to maintenance of ingredient database within Genesis.
