This FSQA Technician III role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and quality of food products at Aspire Bakeries. Key responsibilities include conducting various food safety and quality testing procedures, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the implementation of our comprehensive food safety plan. This position demands expertise in food safety and quality assurance to uphold the highest standards for our products.

The ideal candidate will have experience in identifying and addressing potential food safety risks while adhering to best practices in manufacturing processes. Additionally, they must possess effective work ethic, excellent communication skills, good writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills, and be detail-oriented with strong computer skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable food regulations and adhere to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, specifically BRC and SQF.
  • Support the HARPC Team in implementing an effective Food Safety plan focused on eliminating biological, chemical, physical, and economically motivated hazards from food products.
  • Sampling, testing, and documentation of the Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Ensure the safety, legality, and quality of each food product and the processes used in their manufacture.
  • Reduce customer/consumer complaints related to foods manufactured on site.
  • AUTHORIZED TO HOLD PRODUCT BASED ON FOOD SAFETY OR QUALITY NON-CONFORMANCE.
  • Participate in daily food evaluation to identify possible defects.
  • Conduct weekly physical bakery inspections across various areas, including pest control, operational methods, maintenance for food safety, sanitation, personnel practices, etc.
  • Select food items for analysis at specified stages in the production process to evaluate compliance with specifications.
  • Implement inspection methods and frequencies outlined in procedures and specifications as defined.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and report any concerns to supervisors.

Compensation: The estimated salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on location and experience. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Human Ecology preferred.
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) training preferred.
  • Training in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong computer skills.
