Director of Infrastructure Development

Our client, a leading Canadian mining company in the uranium space, is seeking a highly skilled Director of Contracting and Network Management to oversee the engineering, procurement, and construction management of surface infrastructure on their project.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate all activities related to the engineering, procurement, and construction management of surface infrastructure on the project.
- Accountable for the delivery of objectives for the Surface Infrastructure project area, as agreed with the Vice President, Project Development.
- Coordinate with Project Leadership and Project Services in identifying and preparing required Surface Infrastructure related reporting formats and key performance indicators for management needs.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications prepared for the project, develop strategies for execution, and determine appropriate construction and contracting methods for economic constructability.
- Interface with the Environment, Permitting, and Licensing teams to ensure necessary permits and licenses are identified and tracked for Surface Infrastructure related activities.
- Establish and fulfill the required governance and oversight role for the company when managing external contractors, including the EPCM.
- Engineering degree or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
- ~10+ years of leadership and management experience in the design, procurement, development, and management of remote construction sites in the mining industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate directly with the Project Leadership on key issues in a timely, efficient, and trustworthy manner.
- Complete knowledge of complex projects with engineering, procurement, construction, jobsite management, and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies.
- Ability to mentor project staff and provide area leadership.
This position will be initially based in the company's Saskatoon office, with some travel required to consultants' offices. This role will transition to a site-based position when construction activities are being conducted, as required.
