Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the engineering, procurement, and construction management of surface infrastructure on the project. This includes managing external contractors, ensuring compliance with project delegations of authority, procedures, and policies, and facilitating the review and provision of project leadership with feedback and endorsement for surface infrastructure estimates, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all activities related to the engineering, procurement, and construction management of surface infrastructure on the project.
- Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with project delegations of authority, procedures, and policies.
- Facilitate the review and provision of project leadership with feedback and endorsement for surface infrastructure estimates, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
- Ensure governance of the project area, specifically compliance to project delegations of authority, procedures, and policies.
- Interface with the Environment, Permitting, and Licensing teams to ensure the necessary permits and licenses are identified and tracked for surface infrastructure related activities.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risk, and ensure that decisions are made and technical clarifications are addressed.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
- ~10+ years of leadership and management experience in the design, procurement, development, and management of remote construction sites in the mining industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate directly with the project leadership on key issues in a timely, efficient, and trustworthy manner.
- Complete knowledge of complex projects with engineering, procurement, construction, jobsite management, and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies.
- Experience in surface infrastructure design and construction, including powerplants, remote accommodations, roads and pads, and other surface-related components of a remote mine site.
- Ability to mentor project staff and provide area leadership.
