Job Title: Corporate Counsel

We are seeking a skilled commercial lawyer to join our Law & Policy division as a Corporate Counsel, Corporate/Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising internal clients on all phases of the procurement process, including providing strategic legal advice on compliance with procurement law.
  • Drafting and advising on contract requirements, and contract/vendor management.
  • Negotiating agreements on behalf of WorkSafeBC with external parties and their legal counsel.
  • Providing strategic advice to internal business groups to support the effective delivery of services and programs.
  • Identifying and assessing actual and potential legal risks to WorkSafeBC.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years of recent, related experience as a practicing lawyer with in-depth knowledge of corporate commercial law.
  • Experience in procurement law is an asset but is not required.
  • A member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
