Job Description:

As a key member of the London Drugs IT team, the Cybersecurity Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager, Information Technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and managing our information security systems, as well as developing policies and procedures related to our security practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams.

The responsibilities of this position include:

• Developing and recommending an annual resource plan that supports our Corporate Security programs.
• Conducting thorough security risk assessments and investigations into potential security threats.
• Coordinating corporate efforts to resolve specific data security issues across all lines of business.
• Providing expert guidance on data security, integrity, and privacy to primary users, secondary users, and custodians.
• Developing and maintaining Security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices such as PCI and PIPEDA.
• Monitoring and reporting to management on the performance of our corporate data security program.
• Planning, organizing, and controlling assigned projects to ensure timely completion.
• Performing routine maintenance on software installations and coordinating changes impacted by new maintenance.
• Supporting critical maintenance activities as required to support the Security Program.
• Collaborating with Corporate and DP Training areas to deliver Security Awareness Training.
• Responsible for Data Classification and Data Security Program initiatives.

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three years of Senior System Analyst experience in application development, including database environments, and knowledge of designing application security controls, data management, and data analysis.

Additionally, general knowledge of hardware and software configurations, various lines of business, imported applications, and security controls are required. These include:

a) Comprehensive knowledge of management skills, business writing skills, and system analysis skills, with the ability to evaluate and resolve all security problems and issues.
b) Thorough knowledge of data security access control software, corporate policies, plans, DP Standards, DP Development Methodology, Library Change Control, and Data Management.
