About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Durability Engineer to join our team at Premier Staffing Solution. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting durability tests using MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and analyzing data to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate test specimen build, setup data acquisition systems, and conduct daily durability test inspections/reporting.
  • Communicate test results to Product Engineering and attend test issue reporting meetings.
  • Assist in conducting durability issue investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of RPC Pro and FlexTest software to operate the simulators.
  • Collaborate with the RTS mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance, and facilities teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers, including accelerometers, load cells, and strain gages.
  • Understanding of damage severity concepts and stress-life/load-life calculations.
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to support working days, afternoons, midnight shifts, and weekends on occasion.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience working with servo-hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and tuning.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Hydraulically actuated testing experience using MTS RPC Pro/FlexTest software.
  • Experience with nCode and Somat eDAQ equipment.
  • Previous CANBUS experience.
  • Strain gauge theory and application.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
