Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our multicultural kitchen brigade and management team at our established market Fine Dining Restaurant in the Cayman Islands. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a totally hands-on, high-energy, and creative Professional Chef with a solid culinary background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for international flavours, quality, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer a culinary wow factor to local and international guests
  • Prepare menu items, including desserts
  • Expedite, execute, and/or assist on the line during service
  • Ensure proper sanitation and safety standards are upheld
  • Implement ongoing training and teaching of the kitchen brigade
  • Maintain inventory of items with a focus on budgeting, cost analysis, and planning
  • Maintain a positive environment to encourage growth and diversity within the workplace

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of current restaurant culinary trends in seafood and international cuisine
  • Must have hands-on experience in a major city trend-setting restaurants
  • Post-secondary degree in Culinary Arts or industry equivalent experience with at least 3 years experience working as Head Chef in a quality trend-setting restaurant
  • Solid understanding of menu planning, complete with cost analysis, portioning, and plate presentation
  • Full knowledge of inventory control measures with the ability to develop and execute
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and lead your small kitchen team
  • Fully functional on a computer with a full knowledge of menu costing and recipe conversion

Compensation: This position offers an excellent salary of between USD $60,000 to 65,000 net tax-free, annual vacation, and benefits. Please note: You will be responsible for your own accommodation.
