Our team identifies and addresses systemic racism and inequity in government policy, legislation, programs, and services, ultimately improving social and economic well-being for all Nova Scotians.

About Our Opportunity

The Policy Analyst (Research and Statistical Officer 3) will contribute to the development and implementation of equity and anti-racism initiatives in Nova Scotia, including those related to the Dismantling Racism and Hate Act, the Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform policy development and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement policy instruments and standards, and consult with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide project management and support to designated projects and initiatives, fostering effective working relationships across government.
  • Prepare and coordinate high-quality briefing materials and briefing binders for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as project management, policy, or research methods.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equity and anti-racism concepts, as well as thorough knowledge of the public policy development process.
  • Experience in designing and leading policy analysis projects, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
