Athletics and Recreation Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Athletics and Recreation Coordinator is a key member of the York University team, responsible for planning, developing, and implementing well-being instructional programs, intramural sports programs, and recreation programs at the Markham Campus. This role requires a strong understanding of the university's commitment to student success, retention, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the recruitment process and participate in the hiring process for casual staff within the portfolio.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that advance Athletics and Recreation's commitment to student success, retention, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with Student Counselling, Health and Well-being to provide physical health and well-being services to students.
  • Manage the operations and activities of the multipurpose studio within the Markham building.
  • Provide first aid and CPR services as required.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Sport Administration, Recreation, Kinesiology, or a similar area of study.
  • Recent experience working at York University performing similar tasks.
  • Certification in Standard First Aid with CPR-C from Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, or St. John Ambulance.
