Job Title: Building Operator

Triovest, a leading commercial real estate company, is seeking a skilled Building Operator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail portfolio in Hamilton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of building systems and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain building equipment and systems, including DDC, security access, lighting controls, water treatment, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance to the interior and exterior of the building as required.
  • Respond to tenant requests and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Administer files and records, including processing work orders, purchase orders, and project documents.
  • Monitor energy efficiency and trend data to optimize building performance.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with building rules and regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting and ensure compliance with budgeted costs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency situations.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • 1-3 years' experience in commercial building operations.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to work on a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline, BES certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment, building automation, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Suite and DDC systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
