Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Day Care Service Technician to join our team at the Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a program of activities for the day care service, ensuring the overall development of students and taking into account their interests and needs.
  • Supervise and ensure the health and safety of students, as well as the general well-being of the day care service.
  • Perform technical work related to the operation of the day care service, including the management of financial, human, and material resources.
  • Work with the school administration to plan and develop the program of activities, evaluate projects, and ensure implementation.
  • Organize special activities, such as pedagogical days, and may carry out some or all of the duties of a day care service educator.
  • Draw up operating rules and procedures for the day care service, including registration, attendance, welcoming of students, and accompanying them until they leave with their parents.
  • Prepare and conduct information meetings for parents on the organization and operation of the day care service.
  • Monitor and carry out the admission and registration of students, verify attendance reports, and enter pertinent data using software.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and measures applicable to a day care service, particularly in matters of hygiene, safety, prevention, cleanliness of materials and rooms, and the storage and distribution of medication.
  • Ensure communication between the day care service and the school administration, parents, school board staff, and outside organizations.
  • Assist the school administration in determining budgetary estimates, prepare and analyze data, and carry out billing, collection, and recovery of amounts due.
  • Monitor the day care service's budget and oversee expenses, fill out forms and applications for allowances and grants, and forward information on budget balance.
  • Participate in determining staffing needs, drawing up work schedules, and preparing the staff's vacation schedule.
  • Work with others to develop and maintain harmonious relations among day care service staff members, prepare and conduct coordination meetings, and evaluate services rendered.
  • Keep a staff attendance record, verify hours worked, and carry out measures to replace absent employees.
  • Participate in the physical and material organization of the day care service, keep an inventory of materials and equipment, and order or purchase materials, equipment, or services as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in early childhood education or related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a day care service or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
