About Our Client

Our client is a reputable construction company in Calgary seeking an experienced Accounting Manager Consultant to join their team. This contract-to-permanent opportunity presents a chance for the right candidate to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full-cycle accounting is completed on a monthly basis, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Maintain capital asset records, providing valuable insights into the company's assets.
  • Train and develop four direct reports, fostering a culture of growth and development within the team.
  • Provide insightful management reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to drive business success.
  • Manage treasury operations, including multiple bank accounts, to ensure efficient cash flow and financial stability.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt payments and minimizing delays.
  • Approve outgoing cash transactions, exercising sound judgment and fiscal responsibility.
  • Review semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure CRA filings are accurate and up-to-date, avoiding potential penalties and fines.
  • Assist with WCB filing, contributing to the company's commitment to worker safety and well-being.
  • Review OH expenses, identifying areas for cost reduction and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Ensure accurate billable rates are flowing into job costs, maximizing revenue and profitability.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and CPA designation, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Experience with Sage 300 software, preferably in a similar role or industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
