About the Job

The ideal candidate will have experience working with power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers. You will also be required to prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets and shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools.

Responsibilities
  • Operate woodworking machines to cut, shape, and form parts and components
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience working with power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions
