Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
Job Description:The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all electrical and instrumentation aspects of engineering related to dry vacuum pump and liquid ring pump/compressor systems. This includes ensuring that all project objectives, including safety, technical correctness, budget, and schedule are met.
Responsibilities:- Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation specifications to ensure compliance with global standards and safety codes.
- Direct designers and technicians from conceptual design through production and testing.
- Assist in the development of electrical schematics, BOMs, control panel drawings, junction boxes, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Review and approve electrical designs, including drawings and BOMs.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and departments, including purchasing, QA, and production.
- Assist in developing control narratives or sequences of operations.
- Review quotations and proposals from vendors.
- Provide input for electrical, instrumentation, and controls sections of the IOM manuals for end users.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical design, preferably in the chemical, oil, and gas sectors.
- Instrumentation experience, including control valves, flow meters, and transmitters (pressure, temperature, and level).
- Sound knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and controls.
- Demonstrated design experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Versed on relevant national and international standards applicable to electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, CSA, FM, UL, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams.
- E-Plan, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, fieldbus topology, and experience with PLC/HMI programming software.
- Experience with rotating equipment and pumping systems.
- P.Eng. (or eligible in Ontario).
- Knowledge of process piping systems and associated equipment, including vacuum pumps, liquid pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
