Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Operations Specialist to join our team at Bouygues Energies and Services Canada. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Respond to service requests from facility users and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the facilities management team to ensure seamless operation of building systems.
  • Monitor and maintain stock inventory of equipment, tools, and critical spare parts.
  • Inspect and review fire extinguishers and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner and adhere to all applicable legislation and best practices.
  • Conduct building rounds to ensure all equipment is operating accordingly and take readings on all major equipment.
  • Maintain shop and equipment areas in a neat and professional manner.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of work experience in facility maintenance or operations.
  • Sound technical knowledge regarding HVAC equipment, Building Automation systems, electrical systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • BES 1 / BES 2 certifications will be considered as an asset.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, occupational hazards, safe work practices, and applicable regulations, codes, and legislation.
  • Knowledge in operating Building Automation Systems (BAS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to lift items to 50lbs.
  • The ability to work on shift, and to be on call.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction and able to respond to emergency situations.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work to deliver successful results within agreed timeframes.
