Job Description

Job Summary:

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to join our team. As a Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to inform project development, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including project teams, sector units, and senior leaders.
  • Project Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for enhancement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including reports, briefings, and presentations.
Requirements:
  • Education: University graduation in a field related to the position assignment (e.g., business, engineering, etc.)
  • Experience: At least two years' experience working in a project-based environment, with a focus on project coordination, research, and analysis.
  • Technical Competencies: Proficiency in software and system tools used to carry out responsibilities (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, 1GX), as well as the ability to learn and apply new tools and software as needed.

  • Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct research and analysis to inform project development and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software and system tools used to carry out responsibilities, as well as the ability to learn and apply new tools and software as needed.
