Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our legal team at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). As a key member of our Global Employment Law team, you will provide expert counsel and legal advisory services to support our employment law needs in Canada and potentially Latin America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide employment law guidance for the full employment lifecycle, including statutory and other HR-compliance guidance in Canada.
  • Offer guidance on multi-jurisdictional employment law project areas, such as disability accommodation processes, and coordinate with outside counsel and other team members as needed.
  • Support M&A activities in employment law areas as assigned, with prior experience in this area being a plus.
  • Train clients and business groups on employment law topics of importance.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience as a practicing lawyer with in-house or industry-specific legal experience in Canada is strongly preferred.
  • Progressive work history with in-house and/or private practice experience, including providing legal counsel to clients for employment law matters in Canada.
  • Proficiency in partnering with clients to provide practical solutions while mitigating risk.
  • Comfortable working remotely with clients, colleagues, and business partners in the US and other international regions.
Academic Credentials
  • Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
