About the Role

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Counsel to join its legal team. As a key member of the AMD Global Employment Law team, you will provide counsel and legal advisory services to the company in HR and labor-related matters for our Canada locations.

This role will involve providing employment law guidance on various matters, including hiring, employment, and end of employment, as well as guidance on internal investigations and statutory compliance. You will also be responsible for collaborating with outside counsel and other team members to support AMD's employment law needs in Canada and possibly Latin America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide counsel to AMD on employment law matters, including hiring, employment, and end of employment.
  • Offer guidance on internal investigations and statutory compliance.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and other team members to support AMD's employment law needs.
  • Develop and implement employment law strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Train clients and business groups on employment law topics of importance.
  • Work closely with other AMD lawyers and paralegals to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience as a practicing lawyer with in-house or industry-specific legal experience in Canada.
  • Progressive work history with in-house and/or private practice experience in employment law.
  • Ability to provide practical solutions while mitigating risk.
  • Comfortable working remotely with clients, colleagues, and business partners in the US and other international regions.
  • Key competencies include a mindset of continuous improvement, multitasking abilities, and ability to smoothly navigate a matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
