About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Days Inn & Suites Sault Ste Marie. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality service in our food and beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to optimize inventory management.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Develop and maintain effective communication with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to create menus and promotions that meet customer preferences and expectations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of productivity in a dynamic environment.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs and priorities.
