Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Geriatrics and Palliative Care

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, focusing on geriatrics and palliative care.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and conduct specimen collection
  • Ensure infection control and observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects
  • Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files and take vital signs
  • Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families and nursing services within defined scope of practice
  • Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced environment with work under pressure and physically demanding tasks
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Overtime required
