Salary and Benefits

As a Mechanical Designer at Smith + Andersen, you can expect a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition to an exciting career filled with meaningful work, we offer:

Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for preparing drawings, specifications, and reports necessary to deliver a project. You will design building systems in accordance with municipal or provincial building code and other applicable standards. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing calculations to size ductwork, gas, HVAC, piping, plumbing, and drainage
  • Creating project-specific details to clarify project scope and create building sections to assist with interference coordination between building systems
  • Designing mechanical building systems directly in Revit/CAD; adhering to company BIM/CAD standards
  • Liaising with suppliers and/or manufacturers for design support, equipment, and component selection
