Job Summary

Webber is seeking a skilled Capital Works Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our road network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain highways, roads, and bridges to ensure they are safe and in good condition for drivers.
  • Set up and remove traffic control measures in accordance with OTM Book 7.
  • Operate a range of heavy equipment, including traffic control equipment, vac trucks, boom trucks, and excavators.
  • Work with concrete, asphalt, and steel, including welding, cutting, and forming.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Be available for emergency rail repairs, end treatment repairs, and other emergency work.
  • Work at heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, and aerial platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Capital Works Foreman.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in bridge/road construction and maintenance.
  • Valid G driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to attain a valid Ontario Class DZ license.
  • Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, and job-related aspects of Occupational Health.
Work Environment

The incumbent will spend time completing field work in a variety of weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes high.
