Capital Works Technician

Webber is seeking a skilled Capital Works Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our road network.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain highways, roads, and bridges to ensure they are safe and in good condition for drivers.
- Set up and remove traffic control measures in accordance with OTM Book 7.
- Operate a range of heavy equipment, including traffic control equipment, vac trucks, boom trucks, and excavators.
- Work with concrete, asphalt, and steel, including welding, cutting, and forming.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Be available for emergency rail repairs, end treatment repairs, and other emergency work.
- Work at heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, and aerial platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Capital Works Foreman.
- Minimum of three years' experience in bridge/road construction and maintenance.
- Valid G driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to attain a valid Ontario Class DZ license.
- Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, and job-related aspects of Occupational Health.
The incumbent will spend time completing field work in a variety of weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes high.
