Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable Labourer to join our team at TC Steel Ltd. in a metal fabrication role. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment, assisting structural steel and platework fitters, and performing various tasks related to metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Load and unload vehicles.
  • Read and interpret work orders.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
  • Work site environment: Dusty and noisy.
  • Work setting: Structural steel plant, platework fabrication plant, or metal products manufacturing company.
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Deburrer, dolly, hand truck, lifting device, saws, hand tools, and band saw.
  • Transportation/travel information: Own transportation; public transportation is not available.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and large workload.
  • Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, reliability, and team player.
