The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment/Lifeskills Caseworker to join our team. As a key member of our employment program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in reaching their employment and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit and engage clients in our employment program, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
- Conduct assessments and develop action plans to address barriers to employment, working closely with clients to identify and overcome challenges.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to secure job placements and training opportunities for clients.
- Provide case management and support services to clients, including advocacy, counseling, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with other service providers and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting clients.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Completion of a two-year Community College Diploma in a human services field, such as Social Services Worker.
- Minimum of two years of prior related experience in providing casework services, documenting, and maintaining case files, working in collaboration with other service providers, community outreach, and working with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability and willingness to provide a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, employers, and community partners.
- Self-motivated and driven, with a strong commitment to supporting clients in achieving their goals.
- This is a permanent full-time role at 35 hours per week.
- Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions.
- Ability to lift/move 25 lbs.
- May work with individuals that have significant life barriers.
