Overview: This role is dedicated to overseeing all aspects of Instrumentation and Control responsibilities related to the upkeep, functionality, and repair of Instrumentation and Control systems. The technician will engage in installation and maintenance activities to guarantee the secure and efficient operation of various Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, and mechanical apparatus. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position plays a crucial role in maintaining operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a rotating day shift, including scheduled weekends, and may be required to be on call.
  • Contribute actively to team efforts by addressing and preventing instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical issues that pose safety or operational risks.
  • Identify, document, and report potential repair issues during routine duties.
  • Attend team meetings as necessary.
  • Manage daily SAP tasks, ensuring accountability for all Instrument/Electrical deficiencies by creating Work Notifications.
  • Maintain and oversee equipment calibration and repair records.
  • Collaborate with site programmers to install, maintain, and configure control networks and process systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes while installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical/instrumentation/mechanical equipment.
  • Calibrate, commission, configure, install, and troubleshoot various instrumentation devices.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas and perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate urgent repair issues.
  • Adhere to GMP, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Inspect equipment and materials to identify causes of errors or defects.
  • Manage time efficiently, both personally and for others.
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld in all equipment and work areas.
  • Other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must possess an Instrumentation Technician Certificate and Industrial Electrician license.
  • Background in electronics/PLC is essential, with a willingness to pursue further training in Electrical and Instrumentation.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in electrical equipment repair.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design and maintenance.
  • Maintenance experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop respectful and cooperative working relationships.
  • Logical reasoning skills to evaluate solutions and approaches to problems.
  • Understanding of CMMS (SAP) fundamentals for daily operations.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and CMMS programs.

Compensation:

  • $ 51.42 per hour
