Overview: This role is integral to the maintenance, operation, and repair of Instrumentation and Control systems. The technician will engage in installation and upkeep tasks to guarantee the safe and efficient functioning of various Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, and mechanical apparatus. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position is vital for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a rotating day shift, including scheduled weekends, and may be required to be on call.
  • Collaborate with the team to address and prevent instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical issues that pose safety or operational risks.
  • Identify and document potential repair issues during routine duties.
  • Report any food safety risks or identified concerns promptly.
  • Participate in team meetings as necessary.
  • Manage daily SAP tasks, ensuring accountability for all Instrument/Electrical deficiencies by creating work notifications.
  • Maintain calibration and repair documentation for equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and configure control networks and process systems in partnership with the site programmer.
  • Ensure all electrical/instrumentation/mechanical work complies with relevant codes.
  • Calibrate, commission, configure, install, and troubleshoot various instrumentation devices.
  • Service environmental and analytical instruments as required.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workshop and work areas.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate urgent repair issues.
  • Adhere to GMP, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Inspect equipment and materials to identify errors or defects.
  • Manage time effectively for oneself and others.
  • Uphold safety standards for equipment and work areas as per established procedures.
  • Fulfill other duties as necessary based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Instrumentation Technician Certificate and Industrial Electrician license.
  • Background in electronics/PLC's is essential, with a willingness to pursue further training in Electrical and Instrumentation areas.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for electrical equipment construction or repair.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Maintenance experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop respectful and cooperative working relationships.
  • Logical reasoning skills to evaluate alternative solutions to problems.
  • Understanding of CMMS (SAP) fundamentals for daily tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and CMMS programs.

Compensation:

  • $ 51.42 per hour
