Overview: This role encompasses the comprehensive responsibilities associated with Instrumentation and Control systems, focusing on their maintenance, operation, and repair. The technician will play a crucial role in the installation and upkeep of various Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure their safe and efficient functioning. Reporting directly to the Electrical Supervisor, this position is integral to the operational success of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a rotating day shift, including scheduled weekends, and may be required to be on call.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to identify and rectify instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical issues that pose safety risks or could affect operational efficiency.
  • Identify, document, and report potential repair issues during routine duties.
  • Communicate any food safety risks or identified concerns promptly.
  • Participate in team meetings as necessary.
  • Manage daily SAP tasks, ensuring accountability for all Instrument/Electrical deficiencies by creating work notifications.
  • Maintain calibration and repair documentation for equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and configure control networks and process systems in partnership with the site programmer.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes while installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical/instrumentation/mechanical equipment.
  • Calibrate, commission, configure, install, and troubleshoot various instrumentation devices.
  • Service environmental and analytical instruments as required.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop and work areas.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Effectively communicate urgent repair issues.
  • Adhere to GMP, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Inspect equipment and materials to identify errors or defects.
  • Manage time efficiently for oneself and others.
  • Uphold safety standards in equipment and work areas as per established procedures.
  • Other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an Instrumentation Technician Certificate and Industrial Electrician license, with proof of valid license required.
  • Background in electronics/PLC is essential, with a willingness to pursue further Electrical training and certification.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for electrical equipment construction or repair.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Maintenance experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  • Ability to develop respectful and cooperative working relationships.
  • Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions to problems.
  • Understand the fundamentals of a CMMS (SAP) and utilize it effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and CMMS programs.

Compensation:

  • $ 51.42 per hour
