We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Engineer to join our Process Equipment Design group.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing assembly, testing, engineering, and CAD support to the Process Equipment Design team.
- Producing LIPEX lab-scale extruders (assembly, testing, packaging, and coordinating with shipping & receiving).
- Managing inventory to ensure all required LIPEX products, parts, and materials are available.
- Utilizing and maintaining detailed engineering drawings for the production of mechanical parts, assemblies, and skid systems.
- SUPPORTING EQUIPMENT TESTING AND THE EXECUTION OF INSTALLATION/OPERATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (IQ/OQ) AND FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TESTS (FAT) ON PHARMACEUTICAL EQUIPMENT TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE AND FUNCTIONALITY.
- Supporting the development, testing, and optimization of industrial automation and control systems.
- Drafting and maintaining GMP-relevant equipment documentation, e.g., design & functional specifications, process flow diagrams, user requirements specifications, standard operating procedures, work instructions, piping & instrumentation diagrams, bills of materials, engineering turnover packages, installation/operational qualification, validation protocols, technical manuals, etc.
- Responsible for supporting 3D printing (SLA) of parts and their post-processing.
- General housekeeping of shop floor and asset maintenance.
- Proposing new opportunities and providing technical support to the development of intellectual property.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Diploma in a relevant technical field (preferably in mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering technology, industrial instrumentation and process control) with experience in mechanical design, industrial automation, and control systems, process equipment assembly, and equipment testing.
- Understanding and application of 3D CAD design (Solidworks preferred), process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, industrial automation, and control systems, mechanical assembly, 5S methodology.
- Previous knowledge of personal protective equipment and safety protocols and practices related to working with or exposure to hazardous chemicals that could potentially affect the health of the employee.
- Mechanical aptitude, with experience in the use of hand and power tools, such as drills, stud welding equipment, machining equipment, measurement tools, and cutting tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems and assemblies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly and effectively communicate observations, results, and outcomes to more senior technical staff.
- Ability to travel internationally on occasion (less than 10%) for commissioning projects or to provide customer support regarding LIPEX equipment.
