Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Michael Garron Hospital. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to our user areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply current techniques and knowledge for the processing of sterile products
  • Decontaminate, reprocess, and sterilize equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation
  • Meet or exceed quality and productivity standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent
  • Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years)
  • One-year experience (within the last 2 years) working in an MDRD environment
  • Adherence to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to position
  • Computer skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and push items over 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Able to work all shifts, including weekends and night shift
  • Good work and attendance record
