Position Overview

Instrument Aide, Surgery (Central Supply Unit)
Your primary responsibility in this role is to effectively reprocess medical and surgical instruments, prepare cases for Operating Room procedures, and assemble inhalation equipment. This position involves tasks at multiple sites within the hospital. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, assertiveness, and the ability to prioritize your workload. Following both written and verbal instructions is essential, as is your capacity for self-motivation and direction. This role plays a vital part in supporting the hospital's academic mission by enhancing care through education and research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized equipment, including autoclaves and cart washers.
  • Transport instruments and supplies, ensuring that all unused items are returned to their designated storage areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Community College certificate in Sterile Supply Processing.
  • Experience and certification in Endoscopy/Olympus is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a CSR Instrument Aide or equivalent.
  • MDRD certification is advantageous.
  • Fluency in spoken, written, and reading English is required.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
