Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Michael Garron Hospital. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to our user areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decontamination, reprocessing, and sterilization of equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation
  • Adhere to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to the position
  • Experience in the functions of assembly, prep, and package, decontamination of surgical case carts/instruments/trays/equipment
  • Computer skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and push items over 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and night shift
  • Good work and attendance record required

Requirements

  • Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent
  • Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years) required
  • One-year experience (within the last 2 years) working in an MDRD environment required
