At the University of Ottawa, we are seeking an experienced Academic Development Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on designing and facilitating professional development activities for professors, with a emphasis on innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in education or a related field, as well as four-to-six years of experience in instructional design or as a university-level instructor. Strong writing skills and excellent interpersonal abilities are also essential for this position.

This is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary range of $87,272.00 - $110,239.00 annually. Located in Ottawa, ON, this role requires bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written). Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver professional development activities for faculty members, focusing on best practices in teaching, learning, and student participation.
  • Collaborate with professors to develop online and blended courses, and provide support for special projects.
  • Participate in various events, design content, and deliver training that promotes best practices in teaching and evaluation methods.
  • Work with a team to develop online pedagogical materials and integrate university-level pedagogical tools and technology.
  • Assist in managing budgets and coordinating projects, while maintaining open-mindedness, flexibility, and strong communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Education or a related field
  • 4-6 years experience in Instructional Design or University Teaching
  • Bilingualism in English and French

Competitive Salary Range: $87,272.00 - $110,239.00 per year.
