We are seeking a skilled and experienced sushi chef to join our team at JM SUSHI. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality sushi dishes to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
- Create new recipes and menus to enhance our offerings and cater to customer preferences.
- Instruct and train junior cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation techniques to maintain consistency and quality standards.
- Supervise and lead a team of up to 4 kitchen staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events and functions, including banquets and private parties.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a sushi chef or in a related culinary role.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques is essential.
- Degree, certificate, or diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred but not required.
This is a permanent position requiring standing for extended periods and repetitive tasks. We offer a competitive salary, flexible working hours, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
