Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Rural Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician | Child & Youth to join the MHSU team for a permanent full-time position based at the Williams Lake Mental Health Centre in beautiful Williams Lake, B.C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing culturally appropriate services to clients within the Northern Secwepemc First Nation communities
  • Engaging with appropriate culturally sensitive resources
  • Preparing reports as required and recommending action plans to the Professional Practice Leader and Health Leads within the Northern Secwepemc communities
  • Clinical counselling is a priority

The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life.

The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

Work Environment

Shifts of work will be Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 with weekends and statutory holidays off.

Requirements
  • Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position
  • Two years' recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current valid BC driver's license
