Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our team as a Rural Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Worker. This is a casual opportunity that offers a chance to make a difference in a rural community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use services to adults in the community. This will involve assessing and treating serious mental disorders and substance use issues, as well as providing crisis intervention and referral services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans for clients
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services to individuals in acute crisis
  • Collaborate with other care providers to identify educational needs for the community and develop strategies to address these needs
  • Coordinate services for adults and elderly with mental health and/or substance use problems
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Health, Behavioural or Social Science related field
  • Two years recent related experience in a community mental health and/or substance use setting
  • A current valid BC driver's license
