Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Rural Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician | Child & Youth to join the MHSU team for a permanent full-time position based at the Williams Lake Mental Health Centre in beautiful Williams Lake, B.C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing culturally appropriate services to clients within the Northern Secwepemc First Nation communities
  • Engaging with appropriate culturally sensitive resources
  • Preparing reports as required and recommending action plans to the Professional Practice Leader and Health Leads within the Northern Secwepemc communities
  • Clinical counselling is a priority
Substance Use Clinician Responsibilities
  • Assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders
  • Utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients, and/or their families
Work Environment

Shifts of work will be Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 with weekends and statutory holidays off.

Qualifications
  • Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position
  • Two years' recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current valid BC driver's license
