Qualifications and Requirements

Island Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Secretarial or Office Administration Certificate, as well as experience with client scheduling, database systems, and medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare staff, including scheduling appointments and managing databases.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records and files.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Keyboarding skills at 40 wpm.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
