About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Guidewire Developer to join our team at Experis Canada. As a Guidewire Developer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing software solutions for the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Requirements Review

Conduct thorough reviews of software requirements to ensure they meet the needs of our clients.

  • Architectural Design

Design and develop architectural diagrams and design documents to support the development of software solutions.

  • Screen and Business Rule Design

Design and develop screens, business rules, and workflow changes to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Software Development

Write programs, configure, package, and deploy software solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Coding Standards

Establish and follow coding standards to ensure the quality and consistency of software solutions.

  • Debugging and Testing

Debug and unit test code to ensure it meets the requirements and is free of defects.

  • Peer Code Reviews

Perform peer code reviews to ensure the quality and consistency of software solutions.

  • Mentorship

Mentor junior resources to help them develop their skills and knowledge.

  • System Integration

Integrate Guidewire PC/BC/CC/CM systems with downstream systems to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Cloud Platform Evaluation

Evaluate Guidewire Cloud Platform features and assess its capabilities against business needs.

Requirements
  • Education

Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

  • Guidewire Cloud Certification

Guidewire Cloud Certification is required.

  • Experience

Proven experience years) in Guidewire Application Development.

  • Technical Skills

Proficiency in Guidewire BC Configuration (PC Configuration knowledge is a plus).

  • Programming Languages

Expertise in GOSU Language, configuration and coding using Guidewire tools and accelerators, Guidewire Batch, and Guidewire predefined plugins.

  • APIs and Databases

Experience coding RESTful APIs and in multiple programming languages (C#, Java, Python).

  • Database Systems

Proficiency with relational databases and SQL (MS SQL Server & Transact SQL preferred).

  • Domain Knowledge

Domain knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance.

  • Agile Software Development

Experience with Agile software development tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Core Java and Spring Boot

Nice to have: Core Java and Spring Boot, REST APIs, web services, messaging, database systems such as Oracle and Mongo.
