Aviva Canada is seeking a passionate and experienced Guidewire Development Team Lead to join our dynamic software engineering team.

In this role, you will lead a globally distributed team of talented engineers, collaborating closely with business representatives, analysts, architects, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise in Guidewire technologies and leadership skills will be instrumental in delivering innovative solutions that drive business value.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Analysis & Solution Design: Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to define software requirements, ensuring they align with business objectives and are technically feasible. Lead the design of robust and scalable solutions, creating architectural diagrams, high-level and detailed design documents, and accurate estimates.
  • Coding & Implementation: Write clean, efficient code, adhering to established coding standards and best practices. Conduct thorough unit testing and peer code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability. Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to implement automated testing and deployment processes.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Set clear goals, conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth and development.
  • Project Management & Communication: Effectively manage project timelines, resources, and risks. Communicate progress updates and challenges to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Guidewire Developer with a strong understanding of the Guidewire platform (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ContactManager, ClaimCenter).
  • Guidewire Could Certification required and ACE is preferred.
  • Experience leading and mentoring software development teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
