We are seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team at Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada in Port Colborne, Ontario. This role will be responsible for developing and coordinating EHS programs across various manufacturing facilities.
About the Role- Develop, update, and deploy EHS procedures and training programs to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Coach personnel on critical skills, behaviors, and techniques that foster a strong EHS culture.
- Support environmental compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Monitor, measure, and communicate EHS performance and trends to identify areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in environmental safety and health, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in EHS (e.g., CRSP, CSP, CHMM).
- At least 3 years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing setting.
- Technical writing skills, including procedure development and hazard analysis.
- Familiarity with Microsoft desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
This role requires working in production environments around chemicals and maintaining a high level of physical fitness due to regular walking and climbing activities. The incumbent must also work effectively in an office environment for extended periods.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth within our global organization.
