Job Summary

The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of MEG System Manager. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Magnetoencephalography (MEG) laboratory, ensuring the smooth functioning of the equipment and providing technical support to researchers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance tasks on the MEG equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing any issues that may arise.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to researchers, including setting up experiments, operating the MEG equipment, and managing and analyzing research data.
  • Lab Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the MEG laboratory, including managing lab inventory, supplies, and scheduling.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, scientists, and other staff members to ensure the successful completion of research projects.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues that may impact the smooth operation of the MEG laboratory.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a research laboratory or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including experience with MEG equipment, programming languages (such as Matlab and Python), and IT management.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, scientists, and other staff members.
